This year’s winner of the start-up pitch in Hamburg is Hyconnect. This was decided in front of an audience of over 900 international investors, company and media representatives by a prominent jury of experts. With an innovative connecting element called “FAUSST”, Hyconnect brings lightweight construction material further into application and change entire industries. Together with steel and aluminium, this opens up completely new possibilities.

Thus the Hamburg start-up Hyconnect convinced the five-member expert jury with Horst von Buttlar (Editor-in-Chief of Capital), Astrid Quentell (Managing Director, Sony Pictures), Veronika Reichboth (Director Startup-Unit, Hamburg Invest), Neil Minocha (Business Development, SXSW) and Cornel Wisskirchen (Regional Director Northern Germany, Deutsche Bank).

“It is a great honour and a huge opportunity for us to make our innovation internationally known,” said founder and shipbuilding engineer Dr. Lars Molter. Hyconnect prevailed against five other start-ups and is now travelling with the Hamburg delegation to the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW).
